We have all heard the saying, “Drive for show, putt for dough”. Well in my case it’s, “Blog for show, ask for dough”. By donating to the Underdog Golf Blog you’ll directly be helping me cover the expenses I incur while practicing and honing my golf skills over the next three years. However, I fully believe in doing my part to help others. That is why 25% of all donations will be donated to Drop in the Bucket (DITB), a Los Angeles based, 501(c)(3) water charity that constructs wells and sanitation systems at large rural schools in sub-Saharan Africa.
Now of course, I’ll be putting a lot of my own money towards all of these things, but any help allows me to practice even more and gets me closer to the finish line.
About Drop In The Bucket
DITB was formed by a group of entertainment industry professionals who decided to do something about the fact that every day, children in Africa are dying of preventable water-borne diseases. To that end, the staff has worked directly with individual communities to design and build cost-effective wells and innovative sanitation systems at local schools.
In the four years since they joined forces, DITB has worked with the best and brightest engineers, innovators and experts on African culture – as well as economics – to better understand the unique challenges associated with the world’s developing water crisis. DITB has currently constructed over 140 water wells as well as a number of sanitation systems at locations in Tanzania, Mozambique, South Sudan, Chad, Kenya and Uganda.
Drop In The Bucket believes we can help create a world in which children are safe, healthy, educated and free from fear. And we believe that the key to achieving those ends is clean water and sanitation.
